Kona Kanoes conceived and built the first two Unlimited designed outrigger Kioloa canoes 6 years ago.  A Kioloa outrigger canoe, by definition, is a light, swift wa'a used for racing and ceremonial purposes.  Kona Kanoes has teamed with Jean Wa’a and Jacques “Asoi” Wa’a of Tahiti who together have an accumulation of 3 generations of kalai wa’a (canoe builders) experience in both design and practical application that can not be found in any computer program.  These decades of first-hand knowledge is built into every Kioloa canoe we build.
